All you need to know about the Instagram Algorithm in 2021 👇
As we all know, the Instagram algorithm behaves in mysterious ways! But once you understand it, you can work your magic and get your content to the top of the list!
Instagram has 6 key factors that influence their algorithm:
⚡️ Interest The more Instagram think you will like a certain type of posts (e.g. funny cat memes - guilty!), the higher it will appear on your feed. If you mostly interact with a certain kind of account or post, that is what you will see the most.
⚡️ Relationship The algorithm does prioritise posts from your friends, family and accounts you check out often. So people whose content you like, people you dm, people you search for and people you know in real life are most likely to show up!
⚡️ Timeliness The algorithm does care about when you posted, because it always wants to serve the latest, most interesting posts. So posting at a time when your followers are online and most active will give yourself a better chance out there!
⚡️ Frequency How often you post is EVERYTHING. Stay consistent!! It doesn't matter if you post once a week or several times a week, as long as you keep it consistent.
⚡️ Following The more people you follow, the less likely you are to see posts from everyone, so it's important to make sure you are following the right accounts! And remove inactive or ghost followers!
⚡️ Usage I've said it before and I'll say it again, be consistent in everything you do! This even includes how often you scroll on Instagram - if you're a frequent scroller, your feed will be more chronological, as Instagram has to keep up with your visits, but if you check it less, your feed will be sorted into what it thinks you want to see.
